Sam T. Sirhc - Turn Around Time #5

Appreciate - Bring the Honor

 Scripture:  Luke 2:16-20

R.E.A.C.H - Raising Eternal And Community Hope

II Corinthians 10:13b “…but will boast (celebrate, glory in) only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you.”

Recognize our area of influence.

To Reach those who we were assigned.

GOAL: I believe God has called everyone of you to lead someone to Christ in 2017.

    • We can ignite nations. Ignite - to set afire or to cause to blaze with flames.
    • We can impact a 4 state area.

Impact - the force of impression from one thing on another; a significant or major affect.

    • We can, We will, We must influence culture in a 20 mile radius of TWBC.

Influence - Change Culture

Who is Sam T. Sirhc? Are we celebrating who we do not know. Have we gotten Christmas backwards.

Luke 2:16-20

16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17 And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. 18 And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

Turn Around Time - What is Turn Around Time? In the service industry it is the time it takes from when an order is placed to the fulfillment of the order.

What is Turn Around Time for Sam T Sirhc? It is the time it takes for the Information to become Activation. True Activation can only come from a Revelation or heart change.

Dallas Willard - “The first act of love is to Pay Attention.”

Eyes Open:  We look for every available means, at every available time, to reach every available person through service and giving.

Many people begin to question how can I possibly “do something” with everything that is going on in the holiday season? We have shopping, Christmas parties, shopping, cooking, shopping, family get-togethers, shopping, church, shopping!!!

Holiday busyness is nothing more than misdirected potential.

Essence - is the set of attributes that make an object what it fundamentally is, which it has by necessity, and without these attributes it loses its identity.

If we took all the “stuff” away that is done at Christmas time would it still be Christmas?

Essence - literally “the heart of”

Time, Money, Energy - the 3 things we always “need” more of are the 3 things that we waste the most.

Time - our most precious commodity
How much time have we really spent focusing on “Christmas” (Essence - literally “the heart of”) versus how much time have we spent just doing stuff.

Illustration: What if instead of buying another phone we just put ours down?

All the things we use to communicate better, keep in touch more and to save us time are the very things that separate us the most, keep us from touching literally and get most of our most precious commodity, TIME.

Why do we do all these things? To show people we love them.

So what is the perfect gift to give at Christmas?

Money

How much money have we really spent on “Christmas” (Essence - literally “the heart of”) versus how much money have we spent just doing stuff.

More money is spent during this time than any other time of the year thus the reason for the name "Black Friday".

If God thought money was the answer (Essence - literally “the heart of”) He would have made Jesus an entrepreneur.

As a shift in thinking takes place we understand is not how much you spend but what you spend.

Why do we do all these things? To show people we love them.

So what is the perfect gift to give at Christmas?

Energy

How much energy have we really spent on “Christmas” (Essence - literally “the heart of”) versus how much energy have we spent just doing stuff.
Think of how much energy is exerted in this one month time period….Shopping, Christmas parties, shopping, cooking, shopping, family get-togethers, shopping, church, shopping…
It is so easy with to confuse Heavenly Business with Holiday Busyness.

Why do we do all these things? To show people we love them.

So what is the perfect gift to give at Christmas?

What if Christmas, instead of looking like this (a big stack of presents) looked like this (washing someones feet.)

The essence of Christmas is not “What” we do by the “Why" it is being done.

So what is the perfect gift to give at Christmas? It is the Gospel.
