Sam T. Sirhc - Attack Mode #4

Appreciate - Bring the Honor

Scripture: John 1:1-4

R.E.A.C.H - Raising Eternal And Community Hope

II Corinthians 10:13b “…but will boast (celebrate, glory in) only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you.”

Recognize our area of influence.

To Reach those who we were assigned.

GOAL: I believe God has called everyone of you to lead someone to Christ in 2017.

    • We can ignite nations. Ignite - to set afire or to cause to blaze with flames.
    • We can impact a 4 state area.

Impact - the force of impression from one thing on another; a significant or major affect.

    • We can, We will, We must influence culture in a 20 mile radius of TWBC.

Influence - Change Culture

Who is Sam T. Sirhc? Are we celebrating who we do not know. Have we gotten Christmas backwards.

John 1:1-4

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

As we have been in this series:

C - Compassion - we are carriers of hope

T - Transformation

M - An Anointed “Mess-age”

A - Attack Mode.

Illustration: Black Friday Shopping.  Theme Music: Mission Impossible

Prepare: buy newspaper, surf the web, get emails of sales

Make a list: Who we buying for, What do they want, Where are we going

The Strategy: How are we hitting 100 stores in 8 hours,

Execute: Go into Attack Mode

If we are going to answer the questions: “Are we celebrating who we do not know? Have we gotten Christmas backwards?” we are going to have to approach Christmas with a plan and execute and go into Attack Mode. (TWBCKids Advent Calendar)

Your Mission…  Get Christmas!

The Mission

Passion - Shepherds understand passion.

David, in I Samuel 17:34-47, the Bible says he killed a loin, killed bear and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them.

Everyone understands passion, we all have passion but without the right purpose it is destructive.

Purpose - Shepherds understand they are there for a singular purpose. The sheep! So their passion is directed to the care of the sheep.

Psalms 23 is the quintessential verse to summarize the Shepherd.

To sum it up… The purpose of the shepherd is to keep giving life to the sheep at all costs.

Faithful shepherds can be entrusted with the promises of God.

Shepherds understand that the tireless nights and long days are not the promise. But doing the Purpose combined with Passion for what you are given will lead you to the promised results.

The Strategy - Who, Where, What

Matthew 2:1-2 “Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Wise men know “Who” they are going to worship and are not afraid to ask “Where” to find it?

“Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?”

Like any great military plan or Black Friday Shopping, the objective is known. The Wise Men know the objective. They are looking for the Messiah.

They are doing their “Who and Where” because they know the mission of “What” they are going to do, that is “Worship.”

Clarify: God does not need our worship! He stands alone in the solitude of Himself. He lacks nothing an has no shortcomings or inferiority complexes.

He wants our worship? Because in the midst of our worship we are changed.

Only in “true worship” do we become the person we know lives deep inside of us.

Worship is Love Expressed! Actions and not songs.

We have all heard the phrase “It is the thought that counts.”

3 Words: Marriage, Military, Majesty. If it is not OK for “just the thought to count” on the first 2 why it is acceptable for Majesty. The Magi worshipped for 2 years on the journey, giving the gift was the reward for worship.

The Execution - Don’t Scrooge It Up!

Matthew 25:34-46 NASB

34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

41 “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ 44 Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

This is an important principle to live by:

When I do Something for the least of these, I’m doing Something TO Jesus.

When I do Nothing for the least of these, I’m doing Nothing TO Jesus.

But what do I do? Something!

In the execution of a Mission distractions happen. It is never the same…Improvise!

When you know The Mission, The Strategy and you are released to Execute anything you do within The Mission, The Strategy that makes a successful Execution is acceptable.

The Key to the Execution: Do not get distracted by Distractions.

Mens Shopping vs. Women Shopping

Jesus wasn’t distracted by religion, He was driven by the Mission! YOU!!!
