R.E.A.C.H - Raising Eternal And Community Hope

II Corinthians 10:13b “…but will boast (celebrate, glory in) only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you.”

Recognize our area of influence.

To Reach those who we were assigned.

GOAL: I believe God has called everyone of you to lead someone to Christ in 2017.

    • We can ignite nations. Ignite - to set afire or to cause to blaze with flames.
    • We can impact a 4 state area.

Impact - the force of impression from one thing on another; a significant or major affect.

    • We can, We will, We must influence culture in a 20 mile radius of TWBC.

Influence - Change Culture

Matthew 7:24-27

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Notice the illustration that Jesus starts out with:

There was a person, who built a house, on a rock and there was a storm.

Jesus is making a comparison of a person being like a house. The houses in Jesus’ day are different than houses we see in the United States. They were built to last generations.

We were never called to leave a generation helpless, homeless or hopeless!

I Peter 2: 4-8

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

Jesus in Matthew illustrates us building a house, now Peter says “we are living stones being built into a house.”

Remember - It is not a “Rock” until it has been revealed.

At the time it is revealed it becomes more than a Rock it becomes a “Living Stone.”

I Peter 2:5 “you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house”

Anything that is living needs sustenance.

Sustenance - food or drink regarded as a source of strength, nourishment.

Illustration: Chick-Fil-A

Manna was the Sustenance in the Old Testament, Jesus is the Bread of Life in the New Testament, in 2017 it is Chick-Fil-A.  Just Kidding… It is still JESUS! For the sake if illustration we will use Chick-Fil-A.

Bread

Matthew 2:1 “Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea”

Bethlehem - House of Bread.

Matthew 6:11 “Give us this day our daily bread”

John 6:48-51 “48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

The Bread of life is more than reading the Bible. The Old Testament refers to Bread of Presence.

Remember: It is his Presence that empowers the Principles; Word of God.

It is Presence that makes the bread become the Bread of Life.

Nutrition Facts

Jesus, the Rock who is also the Bread of Life is telling us that we need the Nutrients of Him to walk in the Nourishment from Him to live out our new Nature in Him.

Nutrients - It is in the Word of God. It is not the words but the life in the words.

We would never dream of eating the paper, we want the Chick-Fil-A in the paper.

We have to unwrap it.

Nourishment - We don’t get nourishment until we eat the nutrients.

Nature - We become the nature of what we eat.

We do not get the nourishment by carrying around the the nutrients in a bag. We get it by eating the what’s in the bag.

When you eat the Bread of Life you become the nature of the Bread of Life.

You truly are what you eat!

Dinner Time

Have you ever noticed that the Father wants to eat at the most awkward time?

Exodus 12 The Passover - Death Angel

Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

John 13 - Just 12 Hours before his death.

John 21:9-12 In the middle of their laboring, Jesus wants them to come eat.

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

Why does Father want to eat at the most awkward time? Because it is the Bread of Presence that gives you life.

Whenever you don't think you need to eat, or have time to eat, you probably need to eat.

Revelation 20:15-22

15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. 19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

In the midst of all their sin, He wants to eat. After dinner he says now you have the ability to conqueror.

Will you hear Him? Will you open the door? Until you eat you cannot get the nature of a Rock Solid Life.
