Encounter - Mi Casa (es su Casa) #3

Scripture: Luke 9:28-36 & John 5:19-21

R.E.A.C.H - Raising Eternal And Community Hope

II Corinthians 10:13b “…but will boast (celebrate, glory in) only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, to reach even to you.”

Recognize our area of influence.

To Reach those who we were assigned.

GOAL: I believe God has called everyone of you to lead someone to Christ in 2017.

    • We can ignite nations. Ignite - to set afire or to cause to blaze with flames.
    • We can impact a 4 state area.

Impact - the force of impression from one thing on another; a significant or major affect.

    • We can, We will, We must influence culture in a 20 mile radius of TWBC.

Influence - Change Culture

God wants to have “Encounters” with you.

Encounter - a face to face meeting; He wants to see you and for you to see Him.

Luke 9:28-36

28 Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 And as he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became dazzling white. 30 And behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 32 Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they became fully awake they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him. 33 And as the men were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here. Let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he said. 34 As he was saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!” 36 And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen.

John 5:19-21

19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.

I want to take a moment to clarify where were are headed and what we are doing. Since Super Sunday we have intentionally not brought up the New Facility.

Mark 2:27 “27 And he said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

The same principle applies. The new facility is made for the people, the people are not made for the facility.

As we go into this Encounter Series, we are also going to be laying out the plans to get started on the new facility.

Why a new facility? This is what “Encounter” is all about. All through the scriptures God created a place to have an “Encounter” with his people.

The earth was place created for people that God could come and have a real Encounter with them.

The Tabernacle in the Wilderness was a place created for God to have a real Encounter with people.

The Temple was a place created for God to have a real Encounter with his people.

The New Covenant was created for God to have a real Encounter with Us!

The only purpose for the New Facility is this… a place for You to have a real Encounter with God.

Authentic Relationships:  By creating an environment for divine connection, we develop quality relationships and experience life in Christ together. (First Core Value/DNA)

    • The Facility isn't an Idol or a Holy Shrine it is a Tool.
    • The Facility isn't a Christian Retirement Home or Country Club. It is designed to be a  training environment to equip and send out. We are Kingdom Expanders and not Kingdom Squatters.
    • This is not about a personal space but making “a Place” for everyone.

The Plan

Construction Documents - $165,000 before the end of the year.

Break Ground when we have a 1/3 of the cost in savings, Goal Sept. 2018

Paid off by the time we move in, our 2020 Vision.

Tabernacle in the Wilderness

Exodus 25:8-9

And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst. Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.

Hebrews 8:1-6

1 Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. 3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. 4 Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. 5 They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.” 6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.

Mi Casa es su Casa - My House is your House

Notice what that phrase says “My House is your House. It does not say Your House is my House.

God wants to invite us into His House we can Encounter Him. He is calling you into his Environment. He is inviting us in to His Presence (Face to Face).

As we talk about the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, Tabernacle defined is Dwell or Dwelling.

Dwelling is more than a place of residence, it is a place of living. A place of aliveness.

Illustration: Fresh Prince of Bel Air Song - When Will moved in, everything changed.

Palace/Mansion or Tabernacle/Dwelling - A place of residence is different than a dwelling or place of aliveness.

It is in His “Dwelling” (Tabernacling) we come alive.

That Casa - Tabernacle in the Wilderness

Bronze Altar - Cross

Laver - Water Baptism

All items in the outer court are made of Bronze or Brass.

Brass is a symbol of strength and judgment against sin.

In the outer court sin was to be judged.

Blood was for the atonement of sin and brass was for the judgment of sin. So when they made sacrifices on the Brazen alter there sins were judged and atoned for at that point.

In Deuteronomy 28:15-23 God says if his people were disobedient the heaven would be as brass over their head meaning that there would be no communication with God.

Table of Shewbread - Jesus - Bread of Life

Lampstand - 7 Branches - Holy Spirit

Altar of Incense - Communication with God.

Everything in the outer court was made of Brass while everything in the inner court was made of gold (gold is purity and Deity).

Many people communicate with God but never enter his Presence (Face to Face).

This Casa - Tabernacle in Me

II Corinthians 6:16

What agreement has the temple [tabernacle/dwelling] of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling [tabernacle] among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

The Outer Court

The Brazen Alter - The Cross

The Laver - Water Baptism

Many people say they want an Encounter but we really do not want to get past the Bronze Altar with represents the Cross.

We get caught living in the shadow of the Cross rather than the light of the Cross.

The Holy Place

The Table of Shewbread - Jesus - Bread of Life

The Lampstand - The Holy Spirit -  The 7 Fold Spirit of God

The Altar of Incense - Our Communication/Worship

The Holy of Holies

The Ark and the covering was called the Mercy Seat.

The Casa - Tabernacle Party

3 Major Feasts - Passover, Pentecost & Tabernacles

Passover - Fulfilled in Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection.

Pentecost - Fulfilled in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Tabernacles - Has not been fulfilled yet. It is the catching away of the Church.

Revelation 21:3 “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.”

Take-Away - What House?
