Define It - One Way Love #1

Planted - “Fruit where you are, Roots where you’re Growing.”

3 Keys to “Roots”

  1. Attending - 3 Sunday’s per month. National statistics show active church attendance is 1.8 Sundays a month.
  2. Inviting - Inviting means Invested. If you won’t invite someone it is because of one of 2 reasons: A Fruit Issue or A Root Issue.  You’re Not Producing or You’re Not Planted.
  3. Invest - Time (Attending), Talent (Fruit or Inviting), Tithe (Financially)

Define It - You won’t Grow if you don’t know.

The Bible meaning and Bible application of Church words. We call it Christianese.

I ran into a wall trying to start this series. We want to define everything so we can move forward in concert but the first thing we need to define is not “a word” but You and Me.

I am loved.  (Revelation 1:5)

What is real, we do not always feel. What we feel is not always real.

This is why Define it is so important. If you let your feelings create the definition you will never have what is “Real” about the Kingdom of God.

If we let what is real, the Word of God, define us we may not always feel it but the Fruit is the proof we are looking for and not the feeling.

John 15:16 “that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain…”

We need to have Fruit that remains, but many of us want a feeling that remains.

II Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency (a perfect condition of life, in which no aid or support is needed) in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

sufficiency - αὐτάρκεια (greek) a perfect condition of life, in which no aid or support is needed

What is Grace? - One Way Love! All from Him all for us.

How does Grace work in my life? It works in the form of Empowered Obedience.

Empowered Obedience - The power of God that He gave Jesus, He now gives to us to live a life of right relationship with God.

What Grace is not. If Grace is One Way Love expressed in the form of Empowered Obedience it is not a license to sin or do whatever I please.

Romans 5:15-17 The Passion Translation (TPT)

15 Now, there is no comparison between Adam’s transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. For the magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime. It’s true that many died because of one man’s transgression, but how much greater will God’s grace and his gracious gift of acceptance overflow to many because of what one Man, Jesus, the Messiah, did for us!

16 And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “Guilty!” But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God—acquitted with the words “Not guilty!”

17 Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah!

So if you once thought Grace was a “License to Sin” let me make a correction. It is a “License Not to Sin.” In fact it is not a license at all. It is your Gift Card to live in Victory.

II Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency (a perfect condition of life, in which no aid or support is needed) in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

Gift Card - Something you didn’t work for, that a price was still paid for and we get to receive all the benefits of it.

A Gift Card is One Way Love.

A Gift Card only works in the form of Empowered Obedience.

For a Salt Grass Gift Card to work:

1. Receive the card! It is a “Gift” Card.

2. Use it at Salt Grass.

It is not a license to go eat at McDonald’s.

Jesus is God’s ultimate “Gift” to you. He is the “Card” that has been given to us so that “ALL GRACE” can come into our lives.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
