Romans 8:11
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

If you were to ask the average Christian if they could do what Jesus did or if they could live as confidently in who they are as son or daughter of God as He did, the answer would more than likely come back as an overwhelming “No”. Having just celebrated Easter and reminding yourself of Christ’s glorious resurrection, you should also have celebrated your resurrection as well. One of the major shortcomings of the church in celebrating His resurrection through the power of God is that there should also be a simultaneous celebration of that same power in His people. Jesus not only received resurrection power in His body but He endowed that same power into all believers through His Holy Spirit. Think about the power that it took to not only raise Jesus from the dead but also to heal a body that had been beaten and whipped to the point of being unrecognizable as human. He obviously didn’t walk around for 40 days after He was resurrected looking like something out of a horror film. He was completely, 100% restored except for the scars from the nails and the spear which were left to prove to the disciples that He was truly Jesus. The same Spirit that resurrected and restored Jesus is the same Spirit who gave you eternal life when you were born again. That Spirit didn’t recreate you and leave. He is constantly with you to empower and equip you to be the Jesus that the world so desperately needs. If you haven’t already, spend some time worshiping Him in light of the fact that He saw fit to resurrect you along with Himself. - Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff

Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Many people feel unqualified to operate in the authority that Jesus gave them. They seem to have the mindset that they need to somehow be given permission to start witnessing and walking out the new life they’ve received from Him. When you are born again there is no longer a question as to whether or not you have His power and authority living on the inside of you. Just like when you walk away from the DMV with a drivers license in your hand, you aren’t wondering if you’re allowed to get behind the wheel of a car and drive away. Jesus has given you a spiritual driver’s license. You have been granted, and are therefore expected, to walk in the same authority and power that Jesus did while He was living here on Earth. Just like you didn’t hesitate to get in the car and drive, you shouldn’t be hesitant to start walking out your faith knowing that all of Heaven has your back. Will there be bumps in the road, unexpected detours, adverse driving conditions, and various hazards along the way? Of course there will, but the Holy Spirit and His grace will be there to overcome anything that may come along and try to pull you off course. Jesus won’t revoke your license just because you may have gotten a traffic ticket or been in a fender bender. Don’t let fear of the what could happen keep you from pursuing what should happen. - Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff

Romans 4:17
as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.

Many believers will never come to the place where they see themselves become who God has created them to be. The reason for this is not because what God said is impossible. The reason is that too many people put more weight on what they see (or don’t see) rather than what God says about them. Those who have the faith to take hold of God’s promises will see them come to fruition, those who do not will end up living a life that accomplishes far less than what it was intended to. The fact that God couldn’t see light, didn’t stop Him from calling it into existence. The fact that Abraham couldn’t have children didn’t stop him from believing what God had promised him would come to pass. Even when God asked him to sacrifice the son that he finally had late in life, he was quick to obey. You cannot allow things that are dead in your life, or things that you feel you need and don’t have, to outweigh what God has said. You didn’t physically see Jesus die for you or resurrect from the dead but you still trust that He can save you. The same faith that saved you is more than enough to revive those dead things in your life that are keeping you from becoming who God has ordained you to be. Will you be the one who puts more weight on His Words than what you see? Or will you be content accepting whatever circumstances life throws your way? - Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff

John 11:35-37
35 Jesus wept. 36 So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” 37 But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying?”

Today’s text is one of the most overly interpreted passages all of scripture. Whether you see it as being all about Jesus’ humanity, God’s timing, Jesus’ obedience to God and not the pressure’s of man’s opinion, etc., there are any number of lessons or messages that can be drawn from it. But have you ever considered the fact that Jesus was seeing His own coming death and resurrection being played out right in front of Him? Everything from Lazarus being dead for a lengthy amount of time to the rolling away of the stone was an eerily similar foreshadowing of what was about to take place in Jesus’ own life. The moment of truth was about to happen. If He couldn’t raise Lazarus then would it even be possible for Him to be resurrected? Even though Jesus was God, He laid that divinity aside in order to be an example of how God’s children could walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. What do you think His humanity was telling Him at that moment? What would your mind be doing at that moment? There would undoubtedly be all kinds of crazy thoughts and ‘what if’s’ bouncing around inside your head. Jesus was dealing with those exact same thoughts. This moment was going to set a precedent for what He was about to personally face. Even thought His emotions were all over the place, Jesus still stepped out in faith and let God do the miraculous through Him. When you are faced with the decision to step out and do something for the Lord and you feel the nerves and doubts begin to build, know that Jesus went through the exact same thing. He is your example and He showed you just how awesomely God can move through someone who steps out in faith to bring glory to the Father. He’s got you, He believes in you, and you can do amazing things through Him. - Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff

John 11:40
Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”

When most people think about the glory of God, they picture an all encompassing brightness or light that fills up whatever room or area they’re in. While that is what’s known in the Hebrew language as the Shekinah glory, the glory of God can be experienced in many different ways. For example, the Bible doesn’t say that when Jesus raised Lazarus that there was a bright light that shined all around them at that moment. But Jesus did say that they would ‘see’ the glory of God. What you need to realize is that any time God’s power is on display, whether it be through the miraculous or by someone simply showing God’s love to the person who’s down and out, His glory is manifested. Ask anyone who’s ever been shown God’s love through a simple physical act if they didn’t experience a touch of His glory. Many people get tripped up over this because they have mindset that ‘seeing is believing’. This directly contradicts what Jesus said…He said if you believed, you would see. God’s glory is manifested and shown whenever someone chooses to operate according to their faith. Whether it be mowing your elderly neighbors grass, or raising someone up out of a hospital bed, anytime that His goodness is walked out for the benefit of those who need His touch, the Lord’s glory is on display. Don’t fall into the trap that says unless something supernatural occurs, God’s glory wasn’t shown. Too many forsake the spiritual because they chase after the supernatural. You a vessel full of the glory of God, all you have to do is have the faith to let it out. - Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff.

John 11:43-44
43 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.” 44 The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

Have you ever stopped to think how silly it was that Jesus had to actually tell people to free Lazarus from the burial wrap that he was covered in? It’s hard to fathom that those witnessing this miracle would just stand there and let Lazarus struggle to move around, but apparently this was the case. Fast forward a couple thousand years and this issue is still something that the Body of Christ deals with today. Maybe not in a physical sense but from the spiritual aspect there are countless people who have received a new life in Christ but have never had anyone come alongside them and help them walk out of the old issues that they are wrapped up in. As a believer, you have the opportunity and the responsibility to encourage new Christians to leave their old lifestyle behind and take up the life that Jesus has given them. Think back to when you were born again. You’ll recall that just because you were a new creation spiritually didn’t mean that you had it all figured out in every other area of life. So many new believers are left to fend for themselves and never taught who the really are in Christ. In other words, no one came to help them out of their grave clothes. Sadly enough many of these people fall back into their old lifestyles and develop a distaste for the Lord and the church. When you see someone struggling in their walk do you stand off to the side and watch or do you jump in and see how you can help them step out of what’s holding them back? You might be the only thing standing between them becoming who the Lord has called them to be and their falling away from Him all together. Who can you encourage in their walk with the Lord today? - Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
